With Hwange National Park close by and so much to see, plan on spending a fair amount of time here. Sightings can include elephant, buffalo, hyena, giraffe, zebra, kudu, waterbuck, impala, sable and the big cats. Roan, eland, cheetah and leopard are also common here, although sightings are rare. For birders, Gwango is also a spectacular setting, attracting a large number of bird species.

Gwango Tamarillo Estate is the newest Gwango sanctuary in Fortunes Gate, Bulawayo, a short 30-minute drive from the famous balancing rocks of Matopos, offering guests a choice of thoughtfully designed rooms to ensure guests comfort.

The multi-storey lodge offers first-floor and ground-floor rooms that fuse Gwango’s signature rustic style with contemporary design and layers of comfort. The lovely rooms feature comfortable twin or queen-size beds with premium bedding and luxury private bathrooms with designer toiletries.

Free Wi-Fi is provided, and the rooms open to a patio or balcony. Meals are served in the dining area, and guests can relax in the library or next to the inviting outdoor pool. The lodge offers lovely gardens, a terrace lounge, tour information, and free parking.

Gwango Kule Camp:
An authentic wilderness experience for our adventurous guests. Enjoy the comfort of our self catering bungalows or pitch your tent under the wide skies.

Mkwaina Camp:
Bring your own tents! Our campsites are easily accessible by road.  Includes quality ablution facilities with flushing toilets and hot water showers. Self-catering braai facilities and wash up sinks are available, or you can dine at Gobelo Bar & Grill. You can also explore cultural history at the Heritage Centre or venture into Hwange National Park.

A 4x4 is not necessary. A 4 guest minimum is required to book a campsite.
