The Association of Tourism Hwange is set to host a pivotal Stakeholders Meeting focused on enhancing the security and protection of the Hwange Region. This event will address critical issues affecting both visitors and local communities, including the rise in robbery incidents involving clients and, most notably, the urgent need to curb poaching activities that threaten the region's unique biodiversity.
This collaborative gathering will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders and anti-poaching advocates from across the region. Esteemed organisations, including Painted Dogs Conservation (PDC), Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zim Parks), Environmental Management Agency (EMA), Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), Forestry Commission, IFAW, local chiefs, the Hwange Residents Association, and more, will be in attendance to lend their expertise and resources.
Our goal is to foster strategic discussions and partnerships to ensure Hwange remains a secure, sustainable, and thriving sanctuary for wildlife and a safe destination for visitors. Attendees will explore strategies to enhance security measures, combat poaching, and reinforce conservation efforts across Hwange’s natural landscapes.
We invite all stakeholders and partners to join us in this crucial endeavor to protect the Hwange Region, uphold sustainable tourism, and safeguard our shared heritage for future generations.
